Iceland: Disposable Snapshots

This is a compilation of photos taken by both Ebenezer and I during our trip to Iceland using a couple of Fujifilm disposable cameras. Unfortunately, 2 of our cameras were damaged, so the photos developed with some discoloration, which I don't mind. I'll admit, I kind of forgot that we had brought disposable cameras with us until the last few days, so a lot of the photos I took were in Reykjavik and at KEF before our flight home. I was already using my dslr, an instax camera and a go pro, so I had my hands full. Ebenezer did a good job of remembering though.

We first started using disposable cameras at music festivals because we weren't allowed to take full-size dslr cameras into the grounds. They are extremely handy, and especially in situations where you aren't too worried about the photos you're taking, a disposable camera can be a relief from the pressures of carrying a dslr around. You don't have to worry about exposure and focusing, you simply point and shoot and (in all honesty) just hope for the best! Typically, they come out great except in rare occasions (like this one) when the film is disturbed somehow and you get some funky colors going on (which might not even be a bad thing).

I think that these, along with my instax photos (which I still need to scan to post), are my favorite photos of all. They are the most candid and you really get a sense of how our time spent there was like. It was spontaneous and beautiful, full of surprises, and sometimes messy.
