Passaic River Boathouse

The boat house lies in a moment along the Passaic River that connects the river to the borough of Rutherford. This project aims to establish a connection between the two edges; water and civic. This will be done with a container vs. contained approach in which program is filtered through the container depending on site orientation. The civic identity of the boat house dictates the tectonics of the container, which abstractly alludes to the neighborhood aesthetic. Along the water's edge, program pierces the container to allow for direct and indirect interaction with the river and in return, aquatic plants are then filtered into the site.
