Richard W. DeKorte Park

We need the tonic of the wilderness, to wade sometimes in marshes.
Walked through Richard W. DeKorte Park in the Meadowlands today with Ebenezer. We've tried to find this place before and had no luck. It was closed once and we ended up driving on the trail in the wrong direction. Today we parked in the lot and walked through the marsh.
I really love marshes. The colors of marsh tall grasses are so beautiful, not to mention the colors of the birds we saw there. There was one type of bird, it was a deep black with a red underbelly, that we saw a whole bunch of. We asked this lady what it was called and she said "red winged black bird" but that just seemed too obvious. We also saw a HUGE swan sitting alone, and a gopher crossed paths with us.
Definitely a place I would like to visit again, maybe when it is a little warmer and with some heavy duty bug repellent!
